"My brother and I made a travel around California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada in July 2009. We decided to hire a three day tour into the Havasupai Reservation as a way of getting to know this wonderful part of the Grand Canyon, which promised to be of such a great interest. And the experience has just proved to be one of the most intense and unforgettable memories of our lives! We were really lucky to have Taylor Sizemore as our personal guide during the excursion. Not only did he take us to the most amazing falls and incredible distant corners but he also explained us so many anecdotes about the wildlife, geological features, history and customs of the Havasupai Indian Tribe. This mixture of adventure and discovery contributed to make the trip magical. Jumping from a rock into the blue-green natural pools, going into a cave full of quartz, watching scorpions glowing at the light of a flashlight or just laying to admire the unique starry sky above the Havasu Falls is something everyone should do at least once in a lifetime.
Thanks a lot, Taylor!

"I did the 3-day adventure hike to the Havasupai Falls last October. The hike to the falls was stunning, as you are walking in a canyon with a couple hundred feet high walls. When I actually got there my eyes couldn't believe it... It's a true oasis in the desert!
After a good night sleep at our "base camp", more adventures were waiting for us. After the first day you think that you seen it all but the Mooney and Beaver Falls can still surprise you. The hike to those falls is mix of dirt trail, scrambling, steps and chains, and river crossing. I had so much fun in this mixed terrain trail! Being in the river was perfect to cool you down. We had plenty of time to relax, swim in idyllic pools and take lots of pictures. Along the trail, Taylor (our guide) was always spotting wildlife, making sure we didn't miss a thing. We saw rattlesnakes, big horn sheeps, coyotes and squirrels! He also gave us some important geological and historical insights about the Havasu Canyon and the Havasupai tribe.
Taylor was an outstanding guide! He was always making sure everyone stayed hydrated, well fed, and happy! Can you imagine having a slice of pineapple while swimming in blue-green waterfalls or a having a delicious chocolate cake under the stars? Yeah, Taylor provided all that and much more. We didn't have to worry about the meals. We knew we had always something tasty and nutritious waiting for us!
Taylor was extremely competent as a guide and I felt very safe during the whole trip. He was very polite and kind, always willing to help but without making you feel like a wimp. I will always remember him as the "perfect" guide for adventure trips.
I've been hiking around the world in the last few years and I haven't seen a place quite like the Havasupai Falls. Its turquoise water and travertine formations look unreal and "paintshopped" but I guarantee you they are not! It's a place not to be missed in the Southwest, especially with Taylor as your guide!
Thank you for one of the most awe-inspiring hikes of my life."

I took one-day Walkabout Adventure tour from Flagstff to Antelope Canyon in April. It was literally a personalized tour, since I was the only participant.
I had suddenly wanted to go to Antelope Canyon the day before the tour. At first I had been denied due to atleast 3 participants required. But maybe because I was so desperate(!) , luckily I was on a tour. Later, I heard that this was the rare case.
While driving from Flagstaff, I enjoyed constantly changing the scene from time to time and hearing my tour guide Taylor talking about various things such as the nature of Arizona, the lifestyle of native Americans, and history. He was informative and helpful. After the short stop at Cameron Trading Post for a break and souvenir shopping, we explored Antelope Canyon.
Unfortunately, it was really windy, so it was almost like
a sand storm in the desert around the canyon. We were
covered with sand even in earholes! However, Antelope
Canyon was more that what you would expect and beyond
words. I am not a good photographer, but Taylor advised on
the best camera angle and even took good photos for me.
For lunch, I had a vegan meal, which I had requested beforehand. It was a big meal for me, lots of fresh fruits, vegetables (banana, orange, mango, pineapple, and bread, spinach, cucumber, tomato for a sandwich and beverages and snacks. I had lunch inside a car due to the bad weather, but I heard that usually it would be served at a good location.
Next stop was Horseshoe Bend. After about 30 minutes walk, it was a spectacular view of jade green Colorado River. I did not know this place but I admired the magnificent beauty of the nature. The final stop was Dinosaur Tracks, which dates back about 200 million years ago. Here, I had an impression that the tracks were much smaller than I had expected.
Since I was able t spend the time anywhere I wanted, we
were way behind the schedule. I heard that this was the
first time to accept the private tour. (Maybe not
anymore?!)
I greatly appreciate his kindness.
Even such a bad weather, I had an amazing time and it was
worth participating this tour. Highly recommended tour.

I was lucky enough to meet Taylor on a job I was doing and inquired about his company Walkabout Adventures. I found the prices most reasonable and booked a trip to Antelope Canyon for Fri the 30th of April. It was just my girlfriend and myself but Taylor did it anyway and was right on time to pick us up in Sedona Fri at 7.00 am "sharp". On the way up to the canyon Taylor's knowledge of everything we drove by was uncanny! He truly loves his job and shows that the way he treats his guests. One "couldn't" be in better hands! I've always liked people who really love their jobs and show that passion it takes to make our trip very special! I got twice the service we paid for and really enjoyed his company the whole day through. He made sure our trip was everything and more it was supposed to be! I'll be using Taylor and his company Walkabout Adventures for more "Adventures" in the very near future!

I had a delightful and relaxing tour to Antelope/Corkscrew Canyon, horseshoe bend and the dinosaur footprints with Take a Walkabout Tours. Taylor catered for every culinary need and climatic condition. He was amiable company and very knowledgeable about the local area. And I got back in time to do some shopping in Flagstaff, which is a surprisingly funky little town.

After a fabulous time in the Grand Canyon and reflecting on the nature and beauty, I can honestly say that the trip to Havasui Falls was probably the most amazing vacation I have ever been on!!! And Walkabout Adventures made it so fantastic I can't wait to go back and do the trip all over again!!! The food was awesome and hiking, camping and rock climbing unbelievable!! The scenery is so breath taking you would never imagine you are in Arizona, it's like being in another world! Can't wait for our next adventure, I could do this trip every year!!

WOW...is all I can say...the three day Havasupai trek was a trip of a lifetime and the entire experience exceeded my expectations ten-fold...the scenery was spectacular!
We were truly guests of WALKABOUT ADVENTURES during the entire adventure. There was not a single detail that they did not plan for or anticipate. Our guides (Taylor and John) were extremely knowledgeable about the Canyon and extremely approachable. I was one of the least experienced "trekkers" and never once was made to feel like I was a burden. They gave me the support I needed when I needed it but best of all the confidence to do things I did not think I had the ability to do.
They kept us nourished with gourmet meals at every meal...truly scrumptious stuff and we always had snacks, water, suntan lotion and Advil along the way.
I would highly recommend this experience to everyone whether you go with a group of people you know or with others you do not know...you will not be disappointed. I promise.
Thanks again to the gang at WALKABOUT ADVENTURES... Taylor, John and Weston .

What could walkabout do better?
Considering the time my son and I had with Taylor, the answer to that would most certainly be nothing.
We had an amazing time and Taylor was one of the most amazing people I have met to date. Both my son and I fell ill during the hike but Taylor was right there taking care of us. He was a wealth of information. The Grand Canyon was breath taking but along with Taylor's stories all the things around us came to life. Like the hamburger rock. Too great!
The view during the day as well as at night is one that I will keep with me forever. Taylor was able to point out several satellites in the sky. Amazing! Yes that would be the word I would use. We both want to go back. We will definitely be better prepared this time. Besides I didn't get a chance to Jump off the falls so I have to go back for that.
I would and have recommended this tour to everyone I know.

I don't know where to begin! First of all, to be away from all the traffic and smog and crowd and noise you normally are surrounded with in the city is nice, but to be immersed in such natural quiet beauty of the Grand Canyon is truly one of the most spiritual and rejuvenating experiences everyone should at least do once in their lifetime. My husband and I had the most memorable vacation with Taylor. We did the 3 day camp adventure and had nothing to worry about because he took good care of us. The 10 mile hike into the Havasu village is physically demanding, and Taylor made sure we stayed hydrated and provided delicious snacks all along the way, picnic blanket and everything! He showed us unique landmarks and educated us on the different native plants. He was prepared for any emergency, and even taped both our toes up to avoid blisters. When we finally arrived to the water, he showed us how to ride the stream without hurting ourselves. Our first gourmet dinner was THE BEST! We are very picky eaters and once again Taylor didn't disappoint. We ate like royalty and had everyone in the campsite wondering where the restaurant was. The next day was a 2 mile hike to Beaver Creek Falls. There are many trails to the falls, but Taylor knew the fastest route, and we got there in no time before anyone else. Another fantastic day that began with cherry pancakes and ended with chicken fajitas!
Overall, the grand canyon is beautiful and special, but without the help of Taylor, you will miss all the secret features the canyon has to offer!
Thank you for such a memorable time Taylor!

Sometimes when you pick a hiking trip and guide company out of the blue off the web, you really worry about the unknown - you don't know the terrain, you don't know if you're fit enough, you don't know what to bring, you don't even know if the guide is any good or the company is real! I picked a hiking trip and guide company out of the blue off the web - Walkabout Adventures. They told us that they were all about worry-free adventures and that's what we got. Taylor Sizemore and his fellow guide, Alex, gave us the best experience ever in Havasupai Falls, Grand Canyon. They showed us the best places in the Grand Canyon, made sure we had the right gear for the terrain, they made sure we took the hike at the right pace for our group, they made sure we didn't get hurt, and best of all, they made us fabulous meals at camp that were practically gourmet. When two of the campers are moms with 3 kids each, having someone else cook and clean up for you while camping seems somewhat delusional.
The things I liked the best was poking around the different water falls and the feeling of accomplishment that went with completing a 10 mile hike on day 1.
The most decadent thing was having a cup of cowboy coffee put in my hands when I woke up in the morning - no need to ask.
The thing that could be improved was having more detail around the list of personal things to bring (should add a list of things not to bring).

Our Havasupai Falls experience was exceptional, we are still talking about it with a fresh level of excitement almost 2 weeks later (this was our 3rd trip to the Grand Canyon, our first to Havasupai Falls). Words cannot express how thrilled we were with our 3 day camping trip to Havasupai falls. Your 5 star camping experience was beyond our expectations, which were pretty high to begin with. You knew all the right places, challenged us and our kids to the right level, your cooking was out of this world and all your equipment was top notch. I have been on other tours and have always been lucky to have great guides and experiences. I think you and your team took this to a whole new level. For anyone considering an adventure at Havasupai falls or the Grand Canyon I give Takeawalkabout tours my highest recommendation (we were planning a beach vacation for our next trip, but instead we're coming back). Taylor and his crew will provide a unique trip you will never forget, we wouldn't do it with anyone else (next up is shooting some rapids!).

Wished you were with us for the rest of the journey! If you are considering 3 day Havasu trek make it 5 days and include antelope and rafting with Taylor. We did it on our own, it was great, but I must admit that I missed having Taylor around, such a positive influence and attitude! Thanks again Taylor, we will have to customize the next one and come up with some new adventures!
