Checklist - The Walkabout List

Before You Pack your Bags:
***The most important item: “BROKEN IN” HIKING BOOTS OR SHOES***
(You must purchase and walk in these boots or shoes prior to your hike, you will enjoy this Walkabout even more)

‐This is a long hike, not a hard hike. This is a ten mile hike to the campground so the more you walk prior to your Walkabout, the better off you will be.
‐You should try and take a backpack on some of your walks carrying 10‐15 lbs., which would be your personal water and snacks. (Less is More!)

What to bring:

___ Hiking boots/shoes
___ Water Shoes that stay on your feet and that you are able to hike in.(Teva, Chaco        or Velcro Sandals work best) Aqua Socks or Flip flops are not recommended!
___ Swim suit
___ Two pairs of shorts
___ One pair of long pants (No denim)
___ 3 long sleeve shirts (Cotton or synthetic recommended)
___ 2‐3 pairs of underwear and socks
___ Bandana
___ Visor or Sun hat!!!
___ sunglasses
___ Personal Meds and Hygiene products
___ Camera
___ If you get cold easily you should bring a light fleece or sweatshirt

The Night Before Your Walkabout:
‐Drink plenty of water. Hydrate, Hydrate and Hydrate some more!
‐Eat a healthy Dinner to burn the following morning for your hike.
‐A good night’s sleep is always recommended if possible after a long day of traveling.
